Location: Cleveland Clinic Main Campus and Regional Hospitals (Cleveland, OH)
Cleveland Clinic’s Integrative Hospital Care Institute is seeking skilled and dedicated Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners (Acute Care Certified) for several full-time, high-acuity positions:
Inpatient Pulmonary APP
- Role: Serve as a Pulmonary Specialist covering patients with critical, life-threatening illnesses admitted to Inpatient Pulmonary Services. This role includes extensive training and cross-coverage responsibilities for Primary Pulmonary, Advanced Pulmonary Unit, and Lung Transplant.
- Responsibilities: Independent rounding, chest tube management and removal, ventilator weaning, diagnostic interpretation, and treatment implementation.
- Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (depending on service), with rotating holidays and weekends. No nights or call.
- Experience: Experience preferred, but new graduates with ICU or transplant experience are welcome to apply.

Medical Intensive Care Unit
- Role: Provide care to adults with critical, life-threatening illnesses in an intensive care setting, rotating between Medical and Cardiac ICUs at Fairview, Hillcrest, and Main Campus. This position also includes working on the Main Campus Sepsis Emergency Response Team.
- Responsibilities: Patient evaluation, urgent management procedures (airway and ventilator management, central lines, A-lines, difficult peripheral IVs, and paracentesis ), and collaboration with intensivists.
- Schedule: includes rotating nights, weekends, and holidays. (Sixteen 12-hour shifts in 5 weeks)
- Experience: ICU experience preferred.

Critical Care Medicine Post Graduate Fellowship Training Program
- Program Overview: A 12-month intensive training program designed to provide a comprehensive, structured transition into the fast-paced environment of Critical Care Medicine. The fellowship begins with a boot camp to review and establish practice fundamentals.
- Training:
- Clinical: Nine months of precepted rotations on intensive care units and other services, followed by three months of internship.
- Didactic: Weekly protected learning time, including case-based learning, lectures, and simulations, with a focus on evidence-based medicine.
- Procedures: Basic and advanced procedural simulations, rotations on procedural services, and dedicated airway management training in the OR.
- Mentorship: 1-on-1 mentoring in professional development, including a quality or research project with the aim of submitting work as an abstract or peer-reviewed article to a national society.
- Schedule: Varies by week and rotation, including a mix of days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Fellows commit approximately 50 hours per week to training.
- Outcome: Upon completion, fellows will be highly skilled and capable NPs/PAs in the field of Critical Care Medicine.
