Scott Johnson

Secretary, MSN, RN, ACNP-BC

Scott is a 2002 Acute Care Nurse Practitioner graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. He started his career in Bowling Green, Kentucky, in pulmonary, sleep, and critical care medicine and then continued practicing in the field in 2009 after relocating to Orlando, Florida. In 2016, he transitioned to pulmonary and critical care medicine to the Orlando VA Medical Center. In 2017, he accepted a contracted position with TeamHealth to assist with developing and rolling out a new critical care model at a local hospital, where he remains employed.

Scott is currently pursing a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, with an anticipated graduation in May 2019. His research interests include pulmonary rehabilitation and COPD hospital readmission reduction. His clinical interests include bronchiectasis, interstitial lung diseases, and pulmonary hypertension. He is a former Jonas Nurse Leader Scholar, was a contributor on CNN’s Ali Velshi Show discussing the expanding role of nurses, and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
