APAPP Welcomes New Pediatric Pulm Committee Chairs

APAPP is excited to announce the appointment of Alexandra Kacena, APRN-NP, CPNP-PC, and Emily Simmons, APRN-NP, CPNP-PC, as our new Pediatric Pulmonary Committee Co-Chairs!

Alexandra and Emily are highly respected pulmonary APPs with extensive experience caring for children with respiratory conditions. They are passionate about advocating for the needs of this vulnerable population and are committed to advancing the practice of pediatric pulmonary medicine.

Alexandra brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role. She has a long history of working in pediatric pulmonology, and her expertise spans the spectrum of childhood respiratory illnesses, from common conditions like asthma to complex chronic diseases.

Emily is equally qualified, with a strong background in care of the medically complex child and a dedication to improving the lives of children with respiratory emergencies.

Together, Alexandra and Emily will provide strong leadership for the APAPP Pediatric Pulmonary Committee. They are committed to:

  • Developing educational resources for APPs who care for children with lung diseases
  • Advocating for policies that improve the quality of care for pediatric pulmonary patients
  • Fostering collaboration among APPs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals who care for children
