CHEST APP Leadership Positions – Statement of Interest Due Monday, September 28th
CHEST is committed to team-based care and recognizes advanced practice providers (APPs) as a vital part of the health care team. Recently, the Board of Regents approved an expanded governance structure for APPs which has expanded leadership opportunities within CHEST. This new APP governance structure, effective January 2027, will include three groups: 1) CCAPP Certification Steering Committee; 2) APP Education Subcommittee; and 3) APP Interest Group.
We are currently seeking interested individuals working in Pulmonary medicine for our APP Education Subcommittee and our APP Interest Group. An overview of the groups is below, and charters are also attached for additional context.
CHEST APP Interest Group Charter_May 2026
APP Education Subcommittee (up to 9 open positions)
- Tasked with developing/updating the APP education roadmap and overseeing APP-specific education such as digital learning products, live courses, and annual meeting offerings.
- Individuals may serve an initial 2-year or 4-year term.
- Time commitment: Subcommittee members are expected to attend monthly one-hour conference calls. On average, members can spend between two to five hours a month on subcommittee-related projects/activities, including any ad hoc conference calls.
APP Interest Group (up to 9 open positions)
- Provides APP members with access to unique networking and professional development opportunities and supports a dedicated space for APPs to discuss emerging issues impacting NPs and PAs.
- Individuals may serve up to three 2-year terms (total of 6 years).
- Time commitment: Interest Group members must be available to attend bimonthly one-hour conference calls. Between meetings, members are intermittently asked to complete tasks pertaining to Interest Group goals and events. Attendance at the APP Forum Luncheon and the APP Reception at the CHEST Annual Meeting is strongly encouraged for all Interest Group members.
CHEST membership is a requirement of participation.
