Our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Paul W. Noble is a highly distinguished physician scientist with a long-standing focus on interstitial lung disease (ILD) and pulmonary fibrosis. He received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and chief residency in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, followed by pulmonary and critical care fellowships at the University of Colorado and National Jewish Center in Denver.
From 1992-1997 Dr. Noble was Assistant Professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he established the Interstitial Lung Disease Clinic. He later joined the Yale University School of Medicine as Professor of Medicine with tenure in 2004 and served as the Director of the ILD Program at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
In 2006, he became Chief of the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine at Duke University and as the Charles Johnson Distinguished Professor with tenure. From 2013 to 2024, he served as Chair of the Department of Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he currently directs the Women’s Guild Lung Institute.
Dr. Noble’s active research laboratory has been continuously funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) since 1992 and is focused on elucidating the basic mechanisms of lung fibrosis. He has over 180 peer-reviewed publications, with research published in Science, Nature Medicine, The Journal of Clinical Investigation, and The New England Journal of Medicine, among others.
He has also been involved in directing sponsored clinical trials evaluating new therapies in IPF and participated in both the pirfenidone and nintedanib programs that led to the first FDA-approved treatments for IPF. Research from his laboratory has led to two current investigator initiated clinical trails in IPF. He continues to have an active clinical practice in ILD.
Dr. Noble is an elected member of the American Society of Clinical Investigation and the Interurban Clinical Club. He is also an elected member of the Association of American Physicians, where he currently serves as President.

The Pavilion is located at 127 S. San Vicente Boulevard, between 3rd Street and Gracie Allen Drive.
PARK in the Gold Zone (Levels B2 and B3) and take the Gold Parking elevators to the Plaza Level.
If parking or walking to the event – Follow the signs for the Pavilion elevators, and take the elevator up to PLAZA LEVEL. Look for signs and head to PEC 4-7 where we are holding the conference.
