Happy APP Week From APAPP! (September 21-25, 2026)

Happy APP Week to all our colleagues worldwide! As the first and only professional organization focused solely on Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in pulmonary medicine, we are excited to celebrate with you this week.
APPs assess, diagnose, treat, and manage illness, prescribe medications, perform clinical procedures, and contribute to research that directly improves outcomes for individuals and communities. In 2025, 172 APPs sat for the CHEST Critical Care APP certification exam. APAPP Founder Corinne Young, MSN, FNP-C, is one of the first 10 APPs nationwide to become a fellow of CHEST. Currently, there are an estimated 8,000 to 13,000 APPs working in pulmonology and at least 15,000 in critical care, according to Young, who is director of APP and clinical services at Colorado Springs Pulmonary Consultants. We see you, we support you, and we are committed to promoting excellence in the field of pulmonary medicine by providing education, networking, and support for Advanced Practice Providers.
