May is a Big Month for APPs

May is a significant month for raising awareness about key areas within pulmonary medicine. With that, APAPP wants to shine a light on Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month and Allergy and Asthma Awareness Month- two critical areas where APPs play a vital role in patient care, education, and advocacy.
This month provides a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with our patients, their families, and the wider community to increase understanding and support for these conditions. As Pulmonary APPs, your expertise and dedication make a real difference in the lives of individuals living with cystic fibrosis, allergies, and asthma.
To help you in your ongoing efforts, we are reminding you of a few valuable resources:
For Cystic Fibrosis:
- Cystic Fibrosis Foundation: explore the latest research, clinical care guidelines, and patient support resources.
- Cystic Fibrosis Research Institute (CFRI): a global resource for the cystic fibrosis community while pursuing a cure through research, education, advocacy, and support.
For Allergy and Asthma:
- Allergy & Asthma Network (AAN): a trusted resource for people with allergies, asthma, and related conditions, and for those who care for them.
- Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA): access educational materials, advocacy tools, and information on managing allergies and asthma.
- American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI): find clinical practice guidelines, professional development opportunities, and patient resources.
Let’s use this month to amplify our voices, share our knowledge, and continue to provide exceptional care for our patients. Thank you for all that you do.
